Amazon’s initial bid to acquire television rights to “The Hobbit” and “Lord of the Rings” by JRR
Line of Events
An epic drama set thousands of years before the events described in “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien, following a group of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the long-awaited re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth. The cast of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and other actors who completely changed for their roles. Tolkien’s novel was to be made into a new series adaptation of the latter (essentially a retelling of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)), but Tolkien’s heirs rejected this proposal.
The subtitle dubbing for several languages incorrectly lists King Durin III as “Durin II”
Amazon eventually acquired the rights on the condition that the series be separate from Peter Jackson’s previous adaptations and not contradict anything Tolkien had previously written. Early ideas that were proposed included prequels with characters like Aragorn, Gimli and Gandalf, but the showrunners preferred to focus on important, untold events from the novels’ history rather than simple side stories, so they agreed with the studio that the series would take place in the Second Age of Books. Since they didn’t have the rights to Tolkien’s Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and History of Middle-earth (which explore the First and Second Ages), they checked the Lord of the Rings novels and supplements for passages and references to the Second Age in which to place their history. The estate and several experts on Tolkien lore (including his grandson and novelist Simon Tolkien) were consulted about the inclusion of new characters and plot elements.

The opening credits are a musical sequence of matter that takes on different forms, based on the creation myth “The Music of the Ainur” by J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Silmarillion”.. As a Lord of the Rings fan, I was eagerly anticipating the Middle Earth origin stories. Of course, I have high expectations for The Lord of the Rings, which is close to perfection in terms of timing and fiction.

Since they have a significant budget and capabilities, that’s why I immediately gave points after watching the first episode. Although this is the beginning part, I can say that I really enjoyed the first part. Galadriel’s character could be stronger, but she is still successful. We will get to know the characters better over time.
