Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned hand in the Rodeo world
Line of Events
A Montana ranching family is faced with others encroaching on their land. Forrie J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his mountain accent and reverts to the SoCal speaking voice he normally uses.
Costner is a master actor in the lead role of the Dutton family
(Review is for the first two seasons only) I went into this show not expecting to like it, but the story, acting, and cinematography are superb. It’s basically Montana Mafia Wars with huge intermittent doses of testosterone (cowboys with guns on horses while fishing)! The show is at its best when it shows the Duttons’ chessboard moving and their enemies committing.
Thomas Rainwater is great too
Kelsey Asbille is the weakest link as Monica and plays a bad hand badly, the story falters awkwardly, and the acting simply misses the mark. I think Cole Hauser as Rip may be the strongest actor (besides Costner himself) and I looked forward to every scene where Rip was in it. The story is riveting and the scenery is beautiful.

Much like Cormac McCarthy’s “All The Pretty Horses”; it was a little more gritty and brutal than the title suggests, this show strikes a similar vein. I highly recommend it and wish I hadn’t waited so long to see it.. A new season of “Silo”; it’s one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
