In 1950s Mexico City, an American immigrant in his late forties lives in a small American hermit community. However, the arrival of a new student encourages the man to finally form a meaningful relationship with someone. The main reason is that the film was too abstract and felt like a stream of consciousness. The overall meaning is to explore the loneliness of a strange heart, the difficulty of connecting with others, the pain of not being able to love, and the complex emotions of depression. But the performance technique is very stream of consciousness, especially the last 20 minutes, which have almost no lines and are used entirely to express the inner world of the male character through various blurs, hallucinations and abstract art forms. Although I understood what the director wanted to say, the form of expression may not be acceptable to the public and I wanted to leave the stage at one point.
