In this short video, IMDb tries to answer the question: Where the hell was Batman?
After the events of “The Batman” (2022), Oz Cobb, also known as The Penguin, tries to take over the reins of Gotham’s underworld. Aside from the bat signal in the last frame of the season finale, we don’t have any in “The Penguin.” Getting a cameo from Robert Pattinson. Colin Farrell fought hard to make his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as a casual smoker with a penchant for cigars and is seen in a rainy Gotham alley.
The tone and atmosphere are absolutely perfect
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Seen in “Graham Norton and Guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti” (2024). It’s gritty, gritty, and dark, but Farrell manages to capture a touch of the charm that Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano brought.
Incredible is the right word
There are similarities to the Sopranos, especially in tone. There’s a lot of dark stuff going on in this opening episode, but there are still some comedic moments that fit the tone and don’t undermine it. him. Where do I start with Farrell?
And Farrell totally gets into this role actor
I love seeing talented star actors who have completely dedicated themselves to roles like this, and the makeup/CGI or whatever they did to physically transform him into a penguin not only passes the eye test, but also they look incredibly realistic. There’s always a risk that if the makeup isn’t good enough or is just a little lacking, it can be completely distracting. With Penguin, it adds to his performance and the overall quality of the series because it’s so damn well done. I may be a little biased because he was already one of my favorite actors before this series, but I think this gives him the recognition he deserves.
Kudos to everyone who participated in this project
I never follow new series right away because I prefer to watch all the episodes at once, but I wanted to see how this one really turned out. It didn’t disappoint me, in fact it thrilled me.
