A ranching family in Montana confronts others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned hand in the Rodeo world. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget”; Montanan accent and drifts back into the SoCal accent he usually uses.
This series has been running since 2018, but I just watched it for the first time. Last night I finished the first episode of the first season, which runs for almost 90 minutes. As for the introduction of the Dutton family, we see that they have a lot of influence in their valley, but they fend off the “attacks”. Another from the neighboring aboriginal reserve who wants to reclaim some of their land as well as their livestock.
Dutton (played authentically by 60-year-old Kevin Costner) has several grown Cowboy sons and a helicopter with a dedicated pilot to help him cope with this and the sheer size of the ranch. ) was to get a feel for the Dutton family, because currently the "1883" I’m watching ten episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s latest show. (Fictional) It was in 1883 that the Dutton family of Tennessee joined a larger group to drive “somewhere West” from Fort Worth Texas. They must have stopped when they got to Montana.
Again, this is fiction, but given the men’s ages and the fact that Costner was born in 1955, his character would probably be the great-grandson of patriarch Dutton (played by Tim McGraw) in "1883. For example. With sons born in 1875, 1900, 1925 and the 1950s."Yellowstone" a very good series, the actors are all top-notch, the cinematography and the sound are also excellent. It’s hard to find characters with redeeming qualities, and I don’t really like long-term shows that constantly focus on arguments and fights and often killing.
Now in my 70s, I prefer the "pleasant" stories.NB – "1883" is a really fine and interesting series as it authentically shows the great difficulties of putting down roots and traveling in unknown territories to try to find a new life in a new place. The "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.

Follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the transgressions of long-respected institutions.. In multiple episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium length telephoto. Such a lens would be incapable of focusing on close-in subjects such as selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine..
I must admit, am enjoying this. I will wait to see how it pans out. Give it a watch, it's quite compelling.
Kevin Kline I feel is a tad miscast. Everyone is horrible except for Jonathan. The actress playing a younger version of Cate is STUNNING and beautiful – I don't ever remember Cate being that hotI.
Didn't recognize Ali G to start with- big ups to Sasha BC. I'm just wondering where Jonathan's first girlfriend went? Does she come back into this- I'll wait and watch.
