The world's most famous superhero and comic books' most famous journalist face the pressures and complexities that come with balancing work, justice, and parenthood in today's society.. The pilot pays homage to "Action Comics" #1 (Superman’s debut) by depicting the hero’s original Golden Age costume for the first time in live-action. The famous green car from the cover is also featured.. Superman flies by the WB logo and turns it into the DC Comics logo. Both logos are red and blue and are set on the Kent farm. .
I’m bummed that they ended this show! It was such a fun ride! I loved how it explored much of what made Clark, Clark! Obviously not as well as they did in Smallville but that show began when Clark was a teenager and this one with him already being a father. Tyler Hoechlin did a fantastic job at playing Superman! His acting was strong throughout the series and I felt for the character.
I admired how he was with his family and I bought into it. :)Now – this show had it’s problems, yeah. When this all took place is kind of confusing for people who both know the characters as well as for new fans, I’d think at least. I mean, who all has Superman already battled against at this point? Him being Superman has already been established – but we don’t know when it’s happening. The supporting cast is strong as well, I feel.
I enjoyed watching Clark’s family grow and mature over the series. Hahaha, if I would have I’d of gotten smacked once or twice. 😛 Whatever though – it’s a series set in a new time, obviously there will be some things that are a bit off. The villains in this one aren’t super entertaining, I feel. I enjoyed some of their arcs but mostly it wasn’t my thing. It’s all good though, I was there to watch Superman be Superman.
🙂 Glad to have watched it but I felt that the show could have lasted another season or two, That’s my only complaint with this one. 😛

Survivors of a plane crash are forced to work together to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island… J.J. See which A-listers missed out on one of the most popular TV shows of all time. Sawyer’s character was originally supposed to be an older, suave, suit-wearing urban crook from Buffalo, NY. But when Josh Holloway forgot a line during auditions and then kicked a chair and cursed loudly in frustration, the writers liked the edge he gave Sawyer’s character and decided to write Sawyer as a more Southern, darker drifter. Jin and Sun are married and share the last name “Kwon,” which becomes a major plot point in the final season. But when Koreans get married, the wife never takes her husband’s last name.
In fact, in Korea, it’s not even allowed to marry with the same last name except in rare circumstances.. [repeated line] Desmond Hume: See you in the next life, bro. With so many high-quality shows recently ending or being canceled (Friends, Frasier, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) and the decline in quality of so many others (The West Wing, Smallville), not to mention the incredible growth of sloppy and canceled shows. programming, I’d almost written off television as an entertainment medium. I seriously considered ditching my TV and cable subscriptions in favor of a computer screen and a broadband internet connection.
Then came "Lost". I missed the first few episodes, but I was able to catch up thanks to BitTorrent. There are a few things to love about this show, but here’s a short list: 1) Amazing, intelligent, multi-layered writing. There are tons of mysteries here, and for every answer you get, more questions arise. 2) Rich, complex characters. Just when you think you’re rooting for a character, you learn something new about them, often surprising or even shocking. I love watching the various relationships emerge and develop.
3) Strong performances. It’s an exceptional cast, with several newcomers and a few newcomers, all of whom become stars. Even some of the cameos had recognizable, talented actors (e.g. 4) Mysterious and captivating setting. Of the four basic elements of a story you learned in school—plot, character, theme, and setting—the latter is often the poor, neglected cousin. Not here. The island is dangerous, beautiful, creepy, and undeniably intriguing.
Part of the fun of this show will be discovering the secrets of the island. 5) Thematic depth. This is not just a desert island soap opera. There are metaphors and themes abound here, such as moral challenges; about the nature of communities and civilization; about our relationship with nature/environment; and about spirituality, even mysticism. I’m grateful to see this series be a hit. I’ve too often recently committed early to a quality show (Wonderfalls is the latest, much-complained example) only to have it canceled prematurely by a nervous network. I hope "Lost" has a long and successful run – if its creators, cast, and crew maintain the level of quality they’ve shown so far, I’m sure it will.

The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.. The " Day of the Jackal" novel was set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on the then-President of France Charles de Gaulle.
The show moves the setting to the current era.. Referenced in Graham Norton i gosti: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). TLDR: Redmayne nails it.
Unfortunately the leads are not on par with one another, which detracts from the otherwise spectacular and high quality production. No shade to Lynch, it is just a high bar that Redmayne has set. A more seasoned actor may have delivered a more credible counterpart/adversary character necessary to challenge The Jackal.
The charachter development sort of works, although some things are just left open in the main charachter narratives, but that might be wanted. The locations, varied interactions, and Redmaynes delivery of languages and change of characters really adds a special layer to the story arc. I’m looking forward to seeing how Se01 ends and how the quality is maintained or improved upon in Se02.
Hopefully Lynch eases up to be less forced and gives a more nuanced performance to try and meet Redmayne.
